Our Philosophy
Few truly understand the challenges of addiction like those who have struggled with it themselves. Lake Ave Recovery’s Worcester facility and addiction treatment in Massachusetts was established from the combined experience and insight of our founders, Jack Maroney, Dr. James DiReda, Michael Hurley and Shaun Wallace. Worcester natives themselves, they witnessed firsthand the devastating toll substance use had taken on not only their lives, but on the lives on their loved ones. Now, in long-term recovery, they set out to address the needs of their community. A community in need of healing.
Embracing their own individual recovery journeys, Lake Ave Recovery was founded with the goal of providing personalized and compassionate evidence-based care to each person who walks through our doors. Rejecting the idea of “one-size-fits-all”, we understand that addiction looks different in each person and have, therefore, developed a well-rounded individualized program, combining traditional treatment methods with exceptional holistic healing amenities and experiential services. Our founders are deeply immersed in the recovery community, having worked with a number of drug treatment centers in MA, learning and growing along the way.

We also utilize the scenic hiking paths that enclose the area as well as the private parks for outdoor strength training.
