Addiction Treatment Programs in Massachusetts
Drug and Alcohol Treatment Options in Massachusetts
Our treatment CURE is founded in Compassion, Understanding, Respect, and Empathy.
Treatment at Lake Ave Recovery is unlike any other Massachusetts treatment center. Our focus for the Day Treatment Program, the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Evening Treatment program is to provide treatment in an experiential and instructional format to help increase the participants ability to create change and develop healthy living activities. Our treatment CURE is founded in Compassion, Understanding, Respect, and Empathy.
We guide our clients down a comprehensive addiction recovery path that includes a Day Treatment Program, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Evening Treatment Program and an Outpatient Program.
Our experienced medical and clinical staff use a comprehensive assessment to determine which level of treatment would be most suitable. This assessment is based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s placement criteria, the most widely used and comprehensive set of guidelines for placement, continued stay and transfer/discharge of patients with addiction and co-occurring conditions.
We evaluate you on an individualized and personal level. Our comprehensive assessment starts with psychological and cognitive evaluations so we can better understand your history with addiction, identify any co-occurring disorders that may affect your treatment and place you in the appropriate care.
If you are experiencing the effects of withdrawal or need detox, we will gladly help place you in one of the many detox programs or other substance abuse centers in Massachusetts we have strong relationships with, prior to you joining Lake Ave Recovery for treatment.

Comfort, Curiosity, Care and Concern
Comfort, Curiosity, Care and Concern, are the cornerstones of our individualized care. We promise to deliver outstanding substance use disorder treatment with an emphasis on coping skills and regaining lifelong harmony.
We adhere to the philosophies of leaders in the field of behavioral medicine, among them, Erich Fromm, who suggested that desire for interpersonal fusion is the most powerful striving in humans and argues that love is the only rational answer to our need to overcome separateness, a fundamental problem of human existence. We know the latest research in neuroscience tells us that with experience, the neural pathways in the brain change most dramatically and in the science of play to support learning and integration for change, as supported by Polyvagal Theory that emphasizes a playful mixture of activation and calming in the social engagement system, evidenced by the work of Dr. Stephen Porges.
The social engagement system helps us navigate relationships which we consider to be integral in the reintegration of a person back into a state of well-being. We pride ourselves on creating fun and novel experiences to engage our participants to create sustainable recovery-oriented traits that lead too lasting recovery from alcohol and drug disorders.
Lake Avenue Recovery has wellness, self-help, and recovery information and resources, including but not limited to written consumer/survivor accounts of recovery experiences, a listing of other self-help groups (i.e., Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or other 12-step models, and other groups with local and statewide Members), and a listing of advocacy and wellness organizations statewide (i.e., National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, PAL, Independent Living Centers, etc.
