Addiction Treatment Options in Worcester

At Lake Avenue Recovery, we guide our clients down a comprehensive addiction recovery path that includes a Day Treatment Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, Evening Treatment Program and an Outpatient Program.

Our focus in the Day Treatment Program (often referred to or billed as PHP), the IOP and Evening Treatment program is to provide treatment in an experiential and instructive format to help increase the participants ability to create change and develop healthy living activities. We believe that with experience, the neural pathways in the brain change most dramatically and we believe in the science of play to support learning and integration for that change. Relying on the work of Dr Stephen Porges and Polyvagal Theory that emphasizes a playful mixture of activation and calming in the social engagement system.

The social engagement system helps us navigate relationships which we consider to be integral in the reintegration of a person back into a state of well-being. We pride ourselves on creating fun and novel experiences to engage our participants to create sustainable recovery-oriented traits that lead too lasting recovery from alcohol and drug disorders.

Our medical and clinical directors  use an assessment to determine which level of treatment would be most suitable. This assessment is based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s placement criteria, the most widely used and comprehensive set of guidelines for placement, continued stay and transfer/discharge of patients with addiction and co-occurring conditions.
